Confitarma (Italian Shipowners’ Association) is the representative body of the Italian shipping industry, bringing together companies operating in all major maritime sectors, including deep-sea shipping, short sea shipping, ferries, cruise, tanker, bulk and offshore services. Representing one of Europe’s largest and most diversified merchant fleets, Confitarma promotes the competitiveness, sustainability and security of maritime transport, while supporting the strategic role of shipping for trade, energy supply chains and economic growth. The Association engages with national, European and international institutions on key regulatory and policy issues, including decarbonisation, maritime safety and security, digitalisation, innovation and seafarers’ welfare. Confitarma is an active member of international industry organisations and contributes to the development of global maritime policies, fostering cooperation between industry stakeholders and public authorities.
